GRANDFATHER CLOCK MOVING / CHANDLER & EAST VALLEY

Grandfather Clock Moving in Chandler & the East Valley.

Grandfather and floor-clock transport with cabinet dimensions, fragile glass and mechanism preparation clearly separated from moving the case.

GRANDFATHER CLOCK MOVING

Prepare the mechanism before moving the cabinet.

Provide the maker or model, cabinet dimensions and details of its movement if known. Pendulums, weights, cables and chains are not interchangeable across clocks. The moving request should identify what is already prepared and who is responsible for the mechanism before pickup.

What this move can include

  • Grandfather and floor-clock cases
  • Clock cabinet pickup and delivery
  • Same-property clock repositioning

Placement and restarting need their own attention.

A stable destination and careful handling of the clock case matter, but transport does not replace a clockmaker’s preparation or adjustment. Keep manufacturer instructions and any original packaging available. Discuss fragile glass, removable parts and setup responsibility before booking.

Mechanism servicing, timekeeping adjustment and specialist clock preparation are separate scope questions.

THE DETAILS BEHIND THE MOVE

Plan around the actual item and route

The narrowest doorway is not the only measurement. Cabinet height, protruding trim, stair turns and fragile glass can affect the route.

Identify whether a qualified clock specialist needs to prepare the movement and restart it at the destination. Do not treat a cabinet delivery as a guarantee of timekeeping adjustment.

The clock cabinet and movement should be described separately. Include the cabinet height, projecting trim, glass and current condition, and identify the maker or model when known. A chain-driven clock and a cable-driven clock can require different preparation. If a clockmaker has already prepared removable components, explain that and keep their instructions with the clock.

Choose a destination position with the clock’s placement requirements in mind and make sure the access route is clear. Stairs, overhead clearance and tight turns can matter for a tall case. Discuss who will reinstall prepared components and restart or adjust the mechanism after delivery. Physical relocation of the cabinet should not be treated as a timekeeping or repair service.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

Before the
moving day.

Should the weights and pendulum remain attached?

Follow the actual clock’s manufacturer instructions and appropriate specialist advice. Preparation varies by mechanism.

Is clock adjustment included in transport?

Not automatically. Specify setup needs and arrange the relevant clock specialist.

What route details matter?

Cabinet height, narrow turns, stairs, glass protection and the final standing position.

Preparation references

The actual model instructions take priority. Moving and specialist servicing remain separate scopes.
